Originally a classic/modern rock act, RAISING CAIN was founded in the Spring of 2004 by ANGELO FIRINCIELLI, TOM DEROSATO, and BILLY LATTANZIO. Soon after, ERIC AKERBERG and CARLOS CASAS were added to the mix. Originally known as THE STRANGEST TRIBE, they left the studio as RAISING CAIN after finishing their first demo in the Winter of 2005. Shows followed and they gained a reputation in the Philly area for their tight sound and crowd-pleasing sets. Their success propelled them to the finals of Philadelphia radio station 102.9 WMGK'S classic rock cover band contest in the Summer of 2005.
The band’s expanding their set list branched out, to reflect their diverse musical background. Soon, country, folk, pop, and blues started filtering into the set lists. An even more eclectic following developed. High praise from fans and club staff alike were common, they had become known for their dynamic ability to play the smallest bar to the larger band venues ... All without “blowing out the ear drums” of the crowd.
In September 2006, RC recorded their new, 11-song demo. Fans agree: RC continues to show its’ musical diversity and prove why they’re one of the bands you’ve GOT to see in the greater Philadelphia area.
There have been some line-up changes in recent months, but the new status-quo has formed: ERIC, ANGELO and TOM are now joined by JOEL MATZ ... the new RAISING CAIN is a lean, mean quartet ... and still Southeast PA's Best In Covers! Count on it!! RAISNG CAIN continues to take on new stages and crowds with it‘s diverse live act and all kinds of new covers and originals on the way.
STAY TUNED . . .
